St Columb Major is the sixth largest parish in Restormel, in terms of the number of households (1,215) and fifth largest, in terms of the number of residents (3,855).
The Council consists of fourteen Councillors, nine of which serve the Town Ward, two the North Ward and three the South Ward.
A Full Council Meeting is held on the second Monday of each month, except August. Planning Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month, except December. In addition there are three main Committees (the Finance & General Purposes Committee, the Environment Committee and the Footpath Committee). A full list of meetings can be found here.

We currently have a full complement of Councillors, however if you are interested in the work of the Town Council and wish to be considered, should a vacancy occur during the current term of office, please contact the Town Clerk. In addition to the monthly meetings, all councillors serve on at least one sub-committee.
Cemetery — the Council owns and manages St Columb Major Cemetery, located in Trekenning Road. Click here to view a list of charges. There is also a newly created Garden of Remembrance for the interment of ashes. Click here to view a list of charges.
Churchyard — the Council manages the churchyard, surrounding the parish church of St Columba. The churchyard is closed for burials, except for the interment of ashes. Click here to view a list of charges.
Recreation ground — the Council owns and manages the recreation ground, including the buildings on it (with the exception of the public toilets, which are operated by Restormel Borough Council). A range of children’s play equipment has been provided and the area is open to members of the public to use.
Bowling Club site — the Council leases the site to the Bowling Club. For more information please contact the Club Secretary, Mrs V. Thorpe, 22 Bospolvans Road, St Columb Major, TR9 6SG.
Car parks — the Council owns the Recreation Ground car park and rents the Wesley Place car park, as a service to residents and shoppers. Residents may obtain an annual car park permit to park in the Recreation Ground car park.
Footpaths — the Council acts as agents for Cornwall County Council and maintains the footpaths in the parish.
Allotments — garden allotments are provided on the Jubilee Park (adjacent to the cemetery). Rents are from £25 pa. All the plots are currently let, but if you wish to place your name on the waiting list, please contact the Town Clerk.
It is the policy of St Columb Major Town Council to be transparent in all its dealings and make as much information available to members of the public as possible.
